Is color science really important?

I know people seem to have strong preferences for some color science, especially for Canon, and on DPR maybe Fuji too. But since most photographers shoot RAW, is “color science” a really important factor in driving a camera system purchase decision?

I also recently watched this video https://youtu.be/EMfCDujQywY and thought, maybe it’s just brand loyalty, and many people won’t really pick out the brand they are loyal to in a blind test?

Sorry if this question has been recycled before, but I’m really curious.

Edit: I feel like the Northrups might be a subject of debate here on DPR, although I have not watched many of their materials.
